THAMBI - MUSIC REVIEW

After a long break comes director Seeman with Thambi starring Madhavan in the lead role. He plays the role of an angry young man fighting evils in the society.The movie has music by Vidyasagar, who seems to have continued his good run in recent times with Thambi too.


1. Poovanathil Maraam (Jeyachandran,Swarnalatha)
The start itself sets the tone. It is soft and smooth like Vanilla ice cream. After a long gap, Jeyachandra gets the right song to leave an impression with the audio-lovers.

2. Ennama Devi (Manikkam Vinayakam, Balesh)
What but an energetic song will Manikkam Vinayakam be entrusted with Balesh giving him company, he has sung a racy number which has a good mix of Carnatic music with rustic rural beats. The lyrics, which speak the need for promoting Tamil culture in today's society, bears the stamp of director Seeman.

3. Enn Kadhalai (Priya Subramani)
A song composed seemingly inspired by classical raga.

4. Sudum Nilavu (Unni Krishnan, Harini)
The pick of the album with Unni Krishnan at his best. A refreshing Unni Krishnan and an enthusiastic Harini have given their best.

5. Summa Kidantha (Karthik, Kalyani)
A romantic number that flows quite smoothly. Karthick is the singer of the season and he does his reputation no harm with a clinical and understanding rendering.

6. Kanava Endru (Madhushree)
Yet again a slow number but thanks to good harmony by Vidyasagar, the song counts.

Madhavan! Madhavan! Madhavan! He is all the way. Cine critics where making remarks about his dipping career. But, he gave fitting replies to all those. Maddy has been signed for another movie “sarkar” directed and produced by madhesh who did madurey With Vijay. He is currently busy with “arya” directed by balashekaran. Maddy is all excited about his different role in “Thambi “ releasing this February.

TITANIC-DIVULGING BEAUTY

Ahead of my semester exams starting this November, I wanted to be focused on scoring good marks. So, Compelling me to settle on my academics, my Efforts were in vain, ending up watching the Hollywood classic ‘TITANIC’, the movie that I watched nearly dozen times before. This time the movie was special to me, I remember seeing the movie in 1998 with all my cousins, nephews and nieces at mapillai Vinayagar Theater. I enjoyed the movie second half of the movie because of its picturesque. Nothing more in the film did impress me. But surprisingly I was addicted to the movie yesterday night. In fact I loved the scenes, which I seldom had interest in my early days. Scenes involving jack n rose were simply amazing. Both of them standing in the nose of the steamer is an exceptionally good one.

I understood that some things that I may not like it today ,would be
My favorite someday. Maybe, I liked the movie because I am matured enough to enjoy the scenes which I ostracized in my teens. I succumbed to sleep with impact of the movie.

GAZHINI-MOVIE REVIEW

Inspired from Hollywood classic ‘momento’ Gazhini is an edge-of –the-thriller with surya pivoting the role of sanjay ramaswamy a Business tycoon, who owns the airvoice mobile company .He falls
In love with model Asin.Asin helps to free group of children extradited for work.
Ram & lakshman the deadly duo, gang leader of this extradition brutally murders asin
And badly injures Surya.Surya suffers from short term memory loss, he can remember
Things happening within just 15 minutes. Rest of the story involves how surya takes revenge on the deadly duo.nayanthara plays a role of medical college student, helping Surya to Take revenge.nayathara attracts crowd with her glam icon.

Asin’s performance is simply amazing. She looks cute and composed in her acting. Scene involving brutal murder of asin is heart breaking. I am not sure how the censor board allowed this scene.

Songs “suttum vili “ and “oru maalai” are refreshingly good. Harris’s background score is hitch to the movie’s progress. After ‘kakkha kakkha’ surya gets a break in Ghazini.

A.r.murgadoss and surya make the movie worth wasting our time and money .The extraordinary story line has paid off both.

FINAL VERDICT:EXCELLENT

MY CHENNAI TRIP

On 23rd of august, I bunked my afternoon sessions, to get my clothes packed for My chennai trip. I was so excited with my trip as it was the first time I am with my cousin .
It was a rainy day in madurai ,as I struggled to board the train, with a pleasant feeling of bunking my college the next day. I reached chennai and headed to periappa’s house in kodambakkam, place where people throng production house in hope of getting a break.
In evening, I went to shop down the lanes of t.nagar. Even the showrooms, which made Hypnotizing commercials failed to impress me. Streets of pondy bazaar were filled petty Shops, on the either side of the road in which cute girls were bargaining for cheap discounts. Concluding my shopping, I headed back to cousin’s home and a sound sleep.
Next day we planned to make a trip to mayajal.first, I was a bit nervous to ride in chennai.as time passed by, I felt comfortable. As I was traveling along ECR (east coast road), a dozens of bikes rushed past us mostly with girls masking their identity, which Confirmed the flesh trade going on. Being enervated, I made my entry into mayajal. I stepped into a movie ‘STEALTH’ which was a dud.eventhough I didn’t enjoy the movie, I was fascinated with way the cinemas in chennai were furnished and maintained.
As it was dusk, I made my exit. I had idea of moving to isphania center, a shopping mall. As I neared the center, I glanced through couple of TV artist craving the attention of the pedestrians. Feeling hungry I had a chicken burger in marry brown within the premises.
The next day, I woke up early to get ready to my periappa’s home in periyar nagar in the Suburbs of chennai.there I celebrated Krishna jayanthi with my cousins and their offsprings.finishing my lunch there I headed back to kodambakkam and had a excellent party that night.infact, we did turn up late to home.

My final day in chennai and a special day for my cousin, who was craving for his engagement to roll on. He was interested in speaking to his wouldbe (His future wife) seldom bothering my presence. I got dressed up with a jean & shirt for the Occasion .my cousin was busy looking his face in the mirror, with his well-dressed expensive shirt. I was well dressed up so good as it was not a traditional marriage practice Involving our caste.
As the video camera filmed out the happenings of the occasion, I too Took some photographs, which I was supposed to do. We had lunch with dishes predominantly in the flavors of northies.i rushed to egmore to board the train; I arrived just 5 min before the train departed. I left chennai hoping, I would be posted in chennai, After my training ends.

From my perspective, chennai is heaven for those who spend and earn more, for rest of them it’s going to be tough to meet both their ends.
